Q. How long will it take to receive my order?
A. Magazine subscriptions take 8 to 10 weeks to begin arriving in your mail box. The length of time may be a little longer if the subscription you purchased is for a magazine that is published less than once per month.
Q. How can I view the status of my order?
A. Go to the Customer Care, Account Information Page. This page lists all your Internet orders. Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view. If you purchased your subscription at a show, you may contact us at customercare@bmcmags.com or call us at 615-261-1316. Remember that magazine subscriptions take 8 to 10 weeks to begin arriving in your mail box. The length of time may be a little longer if the subscription you purchased is for a magazine that is published less than once per month.
Q. Can I Renew my subscription before it expires?
A. Yes. That's called an Extension. An Extension subscription is a Renewal order that just "Tacks- On" to whatever you have left on your current subscription. It also locks in the special rate!
Q. What is the difference between New and Renewal subscriptions?
A. A New subscription is a subscription to a magazine you have not subscribed to before, or an order for a magazine subscription which has expired. A Renewal subscription is an order to continue a magazine subscription that is currently in force or about to expire. Your purchase will just "Tack- On" to whatever you have left on your current subscription locking in the special rate and keeping you from missing an issue.
Q. What is International Postage?
A. International Postage is a charge collected by our publishers to cover the cost of shipping the magazine to an address outside the United States. The cost is a yearly cost, but our website will calculate the total cost for your entire subscription term. US Possessions and Territories or Overseas Military Bases (APO and FPO addresses) are not subject to International Postage charges.
Q. What happens if I start getting two copies of the same magazine?
A. Occasionally subscriptions for the same person may be entered with different versions of the same name. For example, Robert Smith and R. Smith are one in the same person, however, the computer doesn't know that and it will produce two separate mailing labels. This may also occur if you request a "New" subscription when you already have an existing subscription in place. The problem is easy to fix. Please email us at customercare@bmcmags.com, or send us the address labels from both copies and tell us which label or name is the duplicate. We will promptly correct the problem. Publishers routinely extend subscriptions to make up for the duplicated copies.
Q. What is an "Authorized Subscription Agent" and why is that important to me?
A. BMC Subscriptions, as an "Authorized Subscription Agent", has contractual agreements and approvals to represent and sell the advertised titles. That means that we are here to help you should you ever have a problem with your subscription. "Unauthorized" Internet Subscription Services come and go all the time. That's because they can quickly set up a website and begin selling subscriptions until the publishers discover that their magazines are being sold without authorization or approval. Many of these websites also lack a Privacy Policy, meaning that your name and email address are likely to be sold, rented or traded.
Q. Will you automatically charge my credit card for an automatic renewal?
A. NO! BMC Subscriptions does not believe in this practice which many other websites and subscription agencies use - and we won't use fine print in our offers to begin this practice. We may remind you that your subscription is about to expire, however, we believe the Customer should always make an affirmative decision as to when and where their subscription is to be renewed.
Q. Are my transactions secure on this website?
A. BMC uses a secure website, with built in 128 bit encryption, to process your order. This is the same type technology used by the banking industry to protect on-line transactions.
